My Story

Hi, I’m Mindy. I graduated with a Masters in Counseling from Southern Methodist University in 2015, with a focus on Adolescent Therapy and Lifestyle and Career Counseling. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas License #79703) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California License #140223) specializing in pre-teen, adolescent, and young adult therapy.

For 10 years, I mentored students ages 10-25. During that time, I also served as the Director of Vocational Discernment, a program utilizing the Strengths Finder assessment tool to help students discover their strengths and potential career paths.

From my years of experience as a mentor, my education, and professional experiences I have acquired a passion and specialty of working with adolescents and their families.

I understand that adolescents from all walks of life share the same concerns of depression and anxiety, navigating relationships, typical developmental transitions, academic success, and future planning. Offering hope, assisting clients to attain new insights, and unconditional positive regard are essential tools I use to work with adolescents and young adults.

During my masters program I worked as a student counselor with adults and adolescents at the Dallas Resource Center. After graduation, I spent two years in San Jose, California as an intern at Almaden Valley Counseling Services registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

At Almaden Valley Counseling Services, I worked with clients from ages 5 to 64. I provided mental health counseling in K-12 traditional and alternative schools and in a traditional office setting. In addition to working with students and families, I facilitated group and individual classes on co-parenting and as the intake coordinator, I provided guidance to new clients looking for a therapist, answering questions and considering each client’s specific needs.

I joined Rozan Christian Counseling in Dallas in Spring 2018 as a supervised intern and completed my private practice internship in April 2018. During this internship, I began to study Fairy Tales from an archetypal standpoint and have continued this study through the presentations from Dr. Rozan Christian, LPC-S.

In May 2023, I completed the Master Dream Patterning Analyst Certification through the Assisi Institute and am currently enrolled in the Archetypal Pattern Analyst Certification program there, as well.

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice. My office is in Sunnyvale, California and I see clients from Texas through a HIPAA compliant video platform.

I see clients in office or through a HIPAA compliant video platform. I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to provide potential clients with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss individual needs.
